Fall-themed watercolor ephemera pieces including leaves, pumpkins, mushrooms, acorns and other autumn elements for art journaling

There’s something about fall that makes me want to slow down and make things. I’ve always been a summer girl, enjoying the sun, the heat and being outside as much as possible. Well, between the extreme temperatures and my chronic illnesses, that has been impossible this summer. It’s been too hot and I’m so looking forward to fall.

The things I do love about fall is the colors! The warm oranges, rusty red, golden yellows, deep greens and browns of every hue. Maybe it’s the little things that only seem to get interesting this time of year, but I love to see the acorns scattered on the ground, apples waiting to be picked, mushrooms popping up in unexpected places, pumpkins everywhere, and the leaves changing one tiny bit at a time.

Or maybe I just love having an excuse to put trees, mushrooms and leaves on everything.

Naturally, I’ve been painting and drawing a whole lot hiding in the air conditioning as I dream of Fall, so I’ve make a bunch of new fall ephemera collections that I’m launching this weekend!

I created four different styles, each with it’s own personality, so you and really I could choose the kind of fall pieces that fit the page.

Fall Trees

This is a new addition to last years Fall themed ephemera pieces and also I’ve made it a separate collection if you want just trees.

I wanted these pieces to have that loose, organic feeling as my other ephemera pieces.

The Fall Trees collection is available as:

Fall Pieces

This is similar to last years Fall collection, with a little bit of everything.

The Fall pieces pack includes a variety of watercolor pieces inspired by the little things I love about this season, pumpkins, acorns, mushrooms, apples, leaves and (new this year) trees.

It’s such a nice collection to pull out when journaling your fall spreads and want a little bit of everything.

The collection is also available as:

I find these especially fun for art journaling because you can mix and match the pieces depending on the story or mood of your page.

Mushrooms

Collection of digitally illustrated mushroom die cuts in different shapes and autumn-inspired colors

For this collection, these were drawn and painted digitally in different shapes and colors all ready to find their way onto a page.

This Mushroom collection is available as die cuts only.

These are perfect for your fall spreads, but also for your woodland collages.

Line Art Fall Pieces

The black & white line art fall pieces are still in my hand-drawn line style, and include pumpkins, acorns, mushrooms, apples and leaves.

I love the simplicity of these compared with the watercolor collections. Because they are B&W, they can fit into almost anything. You can leave them as they are, layer them over painted backgrounds, combine with colorful papers, or use them to add a little contract to a busy collage.

The B&W Line Art Fall pieces are available as:

So Many Ways to Use Them

This is what I love about ephemera. There really isn’t a “right” way to use them. I’m always so pleased to see how you all use the ephemera bits in your own art.

I really enjoyed making this collection and I’ve been loving using them in my own collage journals. Now I’m looking forward to seeing where they end up and what kind of pages they’ll become, and all the little creative combinations you all think of. That’s the fun part for me, I get to make the pieces and then I get to see you make something special with them.

I have two videos on Instagram showing how I use the line art fall pieces.
